The Makassar City Government issued Mayor's Regulation Number 21 of 2023 regarding the prohibition of using single-use plastic bags in all shopping centers. However, the policy of restricting or imposing fees on the use of plastic bags has not been sufficiently effective in changing public behavior regarding the reduction of plastic waste.

Nusareco is here to address the problem of managing waste fabric scraps in Makassar through a Website-based platform, enabling the purchase of fabric waste and its upcycling into marketable goods that provide economic value. These scraps are transformed into Sling Cups (Beverage Holders/Bags) that have sales value, representing a solution for upcycling waste fabric to support an Eco-Friendly Lifestyle.

The Nusareco Team, directly mentored by the Head of the Digital Business Study Program, Syamsu Alam, S.Si., M.Si., and consisting of students Chandra Putra Salombe, Nurul Pratiwi, Ryasqim Immunan Maqmah, Sri Mega Wahyuni Arwin, and Andi Ahmad Thufail Dhiyaul, successfully secured funding from the Student Entrepreneurship Development Program (P2MW) 2024.

With this achievement, Nusareco is expected to inspire other students to continue innovating and developing their entrepreneurial ideas, as well as to contribute to local and national economic growth.
