Mycoco.id Team from Digital Business FEB UNM Achieves International Recognition
The mycoco.id team from the Digital Business Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Makassar State University (UNM), has successfully achieved international recognition. The team won a silver medal in the prestigious Thailand Investor Days (TID) event in Bangkok, in the IoT and Application category. TID is an annual agenda organized by the National Research and Council of Thailand (NRCT), serving as a stage for the best innovators from across Asia to showcase their excellent products.
In 2024, TID was held at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Bang Na, Bangkok, Thailand. The event took place from February 2 to 6, with participation from 25 countries worldwide. Indonesia, as one of the active participants, sent 46 contingents to represent the nation in this competition.
One of the standouts was the mycoco team from Makassar State University. They presented an innovation called "MyCoco.id: An Innovative Platform for Coconut Waste Utilization." This marketplace-based platform connects Startup communities, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and exporters with coconut farmers in various regions. Through established collaborations, MyCoco.id not only serves as a platform for marketing and selling eco-friendly products made from coconut waste but also provides features such as education, volunteer opportunities, and crowdfunding.
Thanks to the guidance of Digital Business lecturers, Mr. Syamsu Alam and Valentino Aris, and partner Mr. Rahman from MSME Kelapana Sulsel, the mycoco.id team successfully developed their innovation. The collaboration between academics, students, and the business world ultimately achieved international recognition with a silver medal at the TID Bangkok, Thailand event.
This achievement would not have been possible without the support provided by the FEB Leadership, UNM's Vice-Rectors II and III, and BNI Kota Makassar. Financial support, facilities, and guidance were key to the mycoco team's success in facing international competition.
This success marks a valuable momentum for UNM in advancing research and innovation in the field of social and environmental entrepreneurship. The spirit of collaboration among students, academics, and external stakeholders is expected to continue to be enhanced to create innovative solutions that benefit the wider community and the environment.
At the award ceremony, the Digital Business FEB UNM mycoco.id team confidently presented their slogan: "Success in Harmony."
