The Hack4ID event was successfully held from May 23 to 24, 2023, at the Kalla Institute Makassar. The activity aimed to develop innovations using digital technology to solve industry problems in Indonesia, particularly within the retail industry, which was the theme for Hack4ID in South Sulawesi Province. The event was attended by numerous student participants and professionals in the fields of business, economics, and technology.

The Digital Business Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Makassar State University (UNM), successfully qualified five of its best teams, who had previously passed the selection stage by the committee. Each team generated highly beneficial ideas and innovations for the Indonesian retail industry, especially in South Sulawesi Province.

  • The Let’s Pack Team developed an innovation in the field of shipping and packaging with high security.

  • The Marewa Team provided a solution to tackle retail industry waste to prevent environmental damage.

  • The Velositee Team offered a solution to boost sales, particularly in the fashion industry.

  • The ProtectaFaux Team provided a solution for cosmetic retailers, allowing consumers to check the originality level of products.

In the final stage, 10 teams successfully pitched their developed digital ideas and innovations. The Panel of Judges, consisting of Rezky Yulyanti Isa (Regional Sales Manager, Nestle Indonesia), Muchlis Insani (Solution Architect, Alibaba Cloud), Dwi Alfia Rizkiyani (Account Manager, Grab For Business East Territory), Valentino Aris (Lecturer, UNM Digital Business Study Program), Muhammad Taufan Gunawan, Yogi Hadi Afrizal, and Muhammad Fachrul Salam (Lecturers, Kalla ITB), voted for the 5 best ideas. Three teams from the UNM Digital Business Study Program successfully made it into the top 5: Team LetsPack, Team Marewa, and Team Velositee.

This success is expected to be the start of the UNM Digital Business Study Program students' participation in developing the digital startup ecosystem in Indonesia, especially in South Sulawesi. This program also serves as an opportunity for students to develop skills and experience in building successful digital startup businesses.
